Dear Editor
A few evenings ago, with dusk falling fast, I heard the unmistakable, hauntingly beautiful call of a tawny owl among the trees that fringe the eleven acre Chase Hotel grounds.
If the proposed development plan is allowed to go ahead (Ross Gazette, January 9th), the natural habitat will be reduced to just two acres of what is described as ‘open parkland’ including some ‘specimen, indigenous trees’.
Unless action is taken to reverse this proposal a significant slice of nature in the middle of Ross Town will be lost - forever.
