Madam, In the long history of the Ross Gazette, there have been many prolific letter writers to your journal. During and just after World War One there was a reader who wrote to your paper probably as frequently as the gentleman from Gorsley does these days.
He wrote about numerous subjects which were relevant to that period; such as unemployment of WW1 soldiers, housing, food prices, public highways, war memorials and war savings.
Your correspondent then was a priest, ex-architect and a Ross town councillor on the Urban District Council. His name was Robert Davis who was in Ross from 1917 to 1923, and who took an active part in public life as well as in his priestly duties. I can supply more information to anyone who is interested.
