MADAM, Here we go again. As soon as the subject of litter is bought up, we dog owners get the knock.
I am a dog owner and not brain dead. I religiously scoop the poop and I agree that dog fouling is very unpleasant.
I walk the Rope Walk every morning with my dog and I have never seen a dog drink from a can of lager and toss it over its shoulder. I have never seen one carry traffic cones and traffic signs and place them on the grass or smash bottles and leave takeaway cartons in the children's play area. Neither do they push shopping trolleys in the brook, smoke cigarettes and stub them out by the seats. I am not sure about the chewing gum though!
Come on people of Ross, let's get real. Dog pooh is bad but litter louts are just as bad. Perhaps they are the same people in both cases. We need to get tough on both counts and stamp it out so that visitors do not go away with negative views of our beautiful town.
