Christine Large, the author of a delightful collection of short stories recalling her childhood growing up in the village of Ryton, near Dymock, has been invited to hold a book signing as part of the Ledbury Poetry Festival.

The stories relate to Christine’s childhood days in Ryton in the 1940s and 1950s following the Second World War. Ryton was also the home of Lascelles Abercrombie, the first of the Dymock Poets to move into the district at the start of the First World War and the village was frequently visited by other poet friends of his who had come to settle in the area.

Christine has been invited by Ledbury Books and Maps to a book signing for her recently published book “Down Sandy Lane” at their Ledbury bookshop on Saturday, July 6th, between 11am and 2pm, which will coincide with the first weekend of the Poetry Festival. Ledbury Books and Maps has been appointed the Festival Bookseller for this year’s event.
