Plans are well underway for the annual Ross-on-Wye Christmas Lunch on Christmas Day for older and more vulnerable people to celebrate together, rather than being on their own at this special time of the year.
Several local organisations, including the Ross Lions who sponsor the event, and EnviroAbility who do the organising, as well as the Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) and the Ross Action Bus, both of whom supply minibuses to enable the organisers to offer transport to those who find it difficult to make their own way there, and Age Concern, have all come together to throw one big Christmas celebration in Ross. The organisers will meet this week to discuss the final arrangements.
All who attend the event at the Larruperz Centre are given a delicious home cooked meal and can enjoy the company of other local residents. Transport can be arranged for anyone who needs it. There is also a home-delivery option for anyone who is unable to join the party at the Larruperz.
The meal is a fixture on the Ross Christmas calendar. Paula Evans of EnviroAbility told the Ross Gazette that guests must pre-book as there is a lot of preparation involved in catering and laying the tables.
