Motorcycle ace, Luke Jones, is in second place in the National Superstock 600 Championship after being awarded first place in the Round 11 race, at Silverstone, at the weekend.
Luke was in third place on the grid and he went into the lead at the start, maintaining that position until the 12th lap when he was overtaken by Luke Mossey. He crossed the line in second place behind Mossey. However, during the post-race inspections, Mossey's bike was found to be outside the rules and he was disqualified, so the race went to Luke Jones.
Jamie Hamilton has already won the championship. He has 165 points, Luke has 137 and Mossey has 118. With a good result at Oulton Park on October 11th, Luke can make sure of coming in second place in the 2009 championship.
Luke and the Jones team are grateful to all his sponsors.
