There will be a full weekend closure on the M50 this weekend, from Friday, February 15th at 8pm to Monday, February 18th at 6am. This is because work on the three bridges on the M50 between junction 1 and junction 2 is taking place this month, prior to more extensive work in April.
The M50 currently has one lane open in each direction but when the work to strengthen the bridges is complete Highways England will be able to open the two lanes in each direction.
To carry out the work there will be overnight closures until February 22nd from 8pm until 6am.
The permanent repair work will start in April and the Queens Arms Bridge will need to be fully closed from April 26th. Signed diversion routes will be in place until the work is complete which should be by the end of 2019.
Contractors, Kier, are planning to held events in the area for people to see the full extent of the work.
