A teacher who lives in Ross-on-Wye has become President of the Northern Magic Circle for 2018-2019, for the second time.

And Stuart Clarkson has been joined in the Society by his son Rhys, who is now the youngest member and the third generation of the family to be part of the Society. Rhys joined the Northern Magic Circle on his 11th birthday, last Saturday. Stuart’s father was a Past President but passed away in 2010. His mother lives in Ross.

The Society is one of the biggest Magic Societies and has members across the UK. Founded in 1956, the Society is celebrating its 62nd anniversary this year.

Stuart first took on the Presidency in 2000-2001 when he was the youngest ever. He is still the youngest member to have been President, and is only the third member to have served twice.

Stuart and his family moved to Ross in 2008 and take part in many local activities. His wife, Claire, works at John Kyrle High School as a teacher, he is Deputy Headteacher at Winchcombe School, near Cheltenham.

Their children attend Brampton Abbotts C of E Primary School and Rhys and Carys take part in local gymnastics, Street Dance, Brownies, swimming and rugby. They also achieved Black Belts with Paul Eacock in TaeKwanDo.
