MADAM, Through your letters page I would like thank all the people of Ross and area for their magnificent generosity in support of the Mayor's Charity – SSAFA.

To Morrisons for allowing us to make a collection on their premises which raised £842.11 – thanks to all those who dropped money into our buckets!

To the Ross Choristers, who gave of their time and energy to present a fantastic evening of song and fun, which raised the magnificent sum of £1250.00 which was finished off by a respectful lowering of the Ensign by the attending Sea Cadets.

To the Ross Sea Cadets, who assisted at both events and excelled in their support of the Mayor, and for their standards of behaviour, which reflected enormously on them as individuals and their training staff.

And finally to the Mayor, David Ravenscroft, for making SSAFA his charity, all the funds of which will be used for the needs of our clients within Ross and the whole of Herefordshire.
