An exciting new community event is coming to Tudorville. The Make & Mend Café will be at Tudorville & District Community Centre (TDCC) on Saturday, March 12th between 2pm and 4pm.
You may have heard of Repair Cafés happening elsewhere in Herefordshire (in fact all around the world), and now the idea is coming to Ross, thanks to support from New Leaf, and funding from the Big Lottery.
People will be able to bring their own items that may need a small repair, such as a replacement fuse or a new button, and sit with a volunteer repairer while they try to mend it. Of course there is no guarantee that things can be mended, but it is always worth a try, and you may learn some new skills along the way. Hereford Cycle Hub will be there, so why not get those bikes out of the shed and ready for the Easter holidays. There’s no need to throw things away when they could be mended, saving you some money too.
People will also be able try a new craft, thanks to support from The Big Skill: felting, spinning, basket-making, clay-modelling and foraging will be available. This is also ‘Easter Rag-Wreaths’: a craft workshop for kids with Sarah Dean.
Entry to this family-friendly event is free, and there will be refreshments available. More volunteer repairers would be very welcome -
