A group of three volunteers met on Sunday morning, and worked for four hours, to tidy up the Railway Garden at the Five Ways junction in Ross-on-Wye.
Garry Burford, Jolanta Wright and Tracey Reading painted the bins, did some sweeping up and carried out some weeding, to make sure that the area was looking its best ready for local residents and visitors to enjoy in time for the Bank Holiday weekend.
Tracey told the Ross Gazette, “We were there at 10.30am and finished at 2.30pm. Councillor Phillip Cutter donated the paint for the bins.
“A neighbour bought us over coffee and chocolate biscuits which helped.”
The volunteers managed to fill several black bin bags full of garden waste during their four hour stint. “Councillor Richard Mayo said he would get them collected,” Tracey said.
She added, “It looks better, I’m still hoping to paint some low fences and clear some more weeds.”
