MADAM, Having lived and worked in and around Ross for the past 60+ years I am disappointed with the way it looks now and am putting my suggestions down on paper for further comments.

1. Visitors to the Town getting lost going, round in circles due to the two way streets becoming one way, and lack of signage to Town Centre. Gloucester Road becoming one way, causing confusion and traffic jams when people are trying to park, and dustbin collections and buses stopping to drop off people by the Market Place. Also Copse Cross Street, the narrowest of streets still being left as two way therefore causing congestion back down Gloucester Road.

2. Parking charges reduced for limited time in Car Parks, outer fringe free, Sundays and Bank Holidays to encourage more visitors into the Town.

3. Frontages to be kept clean and tidy, possible change of use to flats for more housing.

4. The Market Place to be used more often for street performers, music, plays or local clubs to promote themselves. We seem to be able to close the roads for certain ventures, for French/German markets, the farmers' market, the Carnival, why not others?

5. The Riverside looks distinctly tired, nettles and overgrown willows reducing the views of canoes etc on the river - once a thriving part of the Town, what has happened to 'Historic Ross' as mentioned quite frequently in advertising the recent Carnival.

Let's make it a welcoming holiday place when people visit the town again.Vic Lockley, Ross
