Several members of the local business community took up the invitation to find out more about the proposal to consider creating a Destination BID for Herefordshire at an open meeting at the Royal Hotel on Monday, July 1st.

Owen Davies, a consultant with The Mosaic Partnership was invited to explain what this would involve for tourism and business in the area.

Following the closure of Visit Herefordshire, the Herefordshire Sustainable Food and Tourism Partnership (HSFTP), with the backing of Herefordshire Council has appointed The Mosaic Partnership to investigate the possibility of creating a Herefordshire Destination Business Improvement District (BID).

Mr Davies explained that the future strategy needed to be more than just about tourism, he said it is broader than that. There needs to be a view about the area becoming a destination, and it will involve all businesses which rely on visitors.

This meeting was the very first stage in seeing whether a ‘Destination BID’ would be the right model to use in Herefordshire, and therefore including Ross. There is an on-line survey for businesses to complete at www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/HSFTP2019A
