Chris Friend, from Ross-on-Wye Tennis Club, helped make a dream come true for one of the residents of Ross Court recently.

Mrs Janet Auty, Manager at Ross Court Nursing and Residential Care Home, encourages all of the residents to make wishes regularly and let staff know about things they would like to do. Sometimes these can be little things, such as enjoying an ice cream beside the river, or sometimes they make wishes that require some additional assistance.

One of these was the dream that Mrs Winifred Reynolds expressed – to play another game of tennis. Having not been able to play tennis for the last eight years, Chris Friend was asked if he would be able to assist with a game of wheelchair tennis. The results were amazing as Chris and Winifred ended the session at Ross Tennis Centre with several rallies.

Winifred was delighted to have the opportunity to play again, and staff at Ross Court are very grateful to Chris, and the Tennis Centre, for their assistance.

Another wish has been granted by Drummonds of the Homme, Mrs Margaret Merrick really wanted the chance to pick strawberries once again and the Drummond team made this happen. They welcomed Margaret to the farm and treated all the staff and residents to strawberries when she returned to Ross Court, a brighterkind home.
