Residents at Brockhampton Court Nursing Home recently took to the waters of Gloucester-Sharpness Canal with The Willow Trust - a charity which provide days of fun and freedom on the water for disabled children and adults, free of charge.

The staff and residents of Brockhampton Court would like to say a special thank you to the Royal Voluntary Service in Ross-on-Wye who provide transport services for days out such as these.

Mandy Robinson, Activities Co-ordinator at Brockhampton Court told the Ross Gazette:?“We held a raffle to say a thank you to the Royal Voluntary Service and the hire of a seven-seater minibus. It was really easy and anyone can drive it with a clean licence.”

“Without their valuable support, we wouldn’t be able to undertake such an adventure.”

The raffle raised £191 in total, £91 was donated to the Royal Voluntary Service and £100 was given to The Willow Trust. They received thank you cards from both services.

Mandy added:?“The residents are looking forward to more adventures, but we want to make other people aware of this service, which is why we contacted the Ross Gazette. As they say, use it or lose it!”
