Local residents were suspicious about a man who was in Long Lane, Peterchurch on Saturday, February 20th. He was reportedly asking strange questions and cold calling.

Police received one report, about a man who went into a garage, at approximately 11.50am. He was asking questions about a vehicle that was for sale, but members of staff became wary, based on the questions he was asking, and his demeanour.

The man is described as white and tall. He has ginger hair and an Irish accent. He was spotted driving a Ford Transit van with ladders on the roof. It was reported to police that the registration is GJ09 YAU. Two other people were also seen in the van. The incident reference for this is: 287-S-200216.

Police received a second report on the same date, at 1.24pm, which described the same man. He was reported for giving out leaflets and asking people if they want any work done in the Hay-on-Wye area.

The leaflet says that he do property maintenance and garden work, but residents were concerned about him cold calling. Trading Standards have been made aware. The reference for this incident is:350-S-200216.
