A man had to be treated in hospital for cuts and bruising after he was attacked by a young man in Brampton Street, Ross.
The incident occurred at around 2.15am on Saturday, April 10th. The middle-aged male was walking up the street towards Greytree and had just crossed the road, as the pavement on his side had ended.
He said good night to two youths seated on a bench nearby.
He continued on and was then struck from behind by one of the youths.
The blow was to his left eye, which resulted in bruising and a cut to his cheek. He was later treated at hospital for the injury.
The two suspects are described as white males, 18 years of age, 5'7" to 5'8" tall, both of slim build and wearing light coloured or grey hoodie-style tops.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who saw the assault or who may have information as to the identity of the offenders.
