More than thirty people, including ambulance crews, fire crews, police and Mountain Rescue, have been involved in the rescue of a man who had fallen at Symonds Yat.
The man, in his fifties, had fallen, in stages, approximately 50 feet down Yat Rock.
To reach him involved a walk of approximately half an hour from a car park off the B4234.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the incident shortly after 8.25pm last night. An incident support officer and an ambulance crew attended. Great Western Ambulance Service also attended.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "It appears the man had been knocked unconscious for about five minutes. He had pains to his chest, leg and hip, but was otherwise OK from the observations taken at the scene. He was lucky, considering the distance he had fallen.
"The West Midlands Ambulance Service crew positioned itself at the top of Yat Rock and, in stages, the man was roped up to them. He was taken to Hereford County Hospital."
