Alfie Williams, of Pencraig, took part in his first London Marathon on Sunday April 13th completing the race in four hours and 47 minutes. Alfie, 26, who works for his family's business DTJ?Williams, was running for the charity Children with Cancer UK. This is a charity that helped his cousin Chloe when she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2008. Chloe was able to make a full recovery due to the treatment and care she received at the Emily Kent Unit at Gloucester's Oncology ward. Children with Cancer donates money raised into funding research, helping families to provide better care for children with cancer and raises awareness of childhood cancer to protect children and improve the lives of young cancer patients.
