Angela Whitehead and her mother, Charlotte Howard, ran the Race for Life in the last year of Charlotte's life. They were holding hands as they went over the finish line together. The 5k race was the furthest Angela had ever run until she decided to take part in the London Marathon this year. Her mother was diagnosed with cancer in June 2013 and died just nine weeks later. Angela continued jogging as it helped her to cope with the loss. She told the Ross Gazette:?"Mum said always have a challenge. So I decided I would run the London Marathon, Mum always told me you can do whatever you put your mind to." Full story in this week's Gazette.
