The Ross Conservative Association has selected Margaret Lucas – the popular and prominent campaigner for charitable causes in the town as their candidate in the forthcoming election.
With fifty years of service in the town her enthusiasm for local projects is well known – and as chair of Ross in Bloom she has campaigned vigorously to clean up the streets of Ross.
Margaret, who is often seen with her husband, Cllr Gordon Lucas, clearing the churchyard and garden of remembrance, said 'Ross is a beautiful town and I've seen many recessions come and go, but I feel that as a Town Councillor I can take an active part in helping the town get back on its feet'
Ross Conservatives are confident that Margaret's love of Ross and her boundless energy make her the ideal candidate to serve on the Town Council.
It is envisaged that to save costs, the Town Council election will be held on the same date as the General Election.
