MADAM, through the Ross Gazette I would like to pass on my very grateful thanks to everyone who worked very hard for my election campaign to Ross Town Council. There were many members of my family as well as friends who delivered leaflets, spoke on my behalf and generally helped towards the general running of the campaign.
I would hate to miss anyone out, but they all know who they are. However special thanks must be given to my husband, Gordon, and his fellow Conservatives, who worked very hard, especially as they had only just finished campaigning for Jessie Norman, our new MP.
Thanks must also go to those members of the public who were able to get to the polling stations on the day. I received so much support but it was a great shame that so few people voted.
My personal congratulations must go to Caroline Utting, who won the election. I know she has the town at heart and will make an excellent Town Councillor and will work very hard. I would also like to offer all the very best to John Gasston and his future work with the town.
As you are aware I am Chairman of Ross-in-Bloom and the Heart of England Judges will be visiting Ross on Tuesday, July 20th, between 2pm and 4.30pm. The route will start and finish at the Chase Hotel and I welcome anyone to attend the press call where the Mayor will welcome them to the town and we all have the opportunity to meet the judges.
Margaret Lucas
