Ross Police Constable, Mark Murphy, was among West Mercia Police force's finest honoured at the annual Quality People Awards on Tuesday, September 8th.

The Awards, now in their fifth year, were hosted by Chief Constable Paul West at police headquarters, Hindlip Hall, Worcester.

Eighty people were nominated for 21 awards, including Life Time Achievement, Excellence in Policing, Criminal Investigator of the Year and Community Police Officer of the Year.

The winner of the Paul Deneen Trophy was PC Mark Murphy. He won because he is an exceptional Local Policing Officer who has the best interests of his community and the force at heart.

In October 2008, along with his Ross Town Local Policing team colleagues, his efforts were rewarded when he received an award in recognition of his contribution towards improving performance for the force.
