Ross started the brighter of the two teams but found little in the way of penetration until Luke Gray, who had started very impressively, used his strength to draw a foul from Red Lions centre back and win a penalty after 20 minutes. The resulting penalty was calmly placed in the bottom corner only for the referee to call for the ball to be re-spotted due to encroachment into the penalty area; unfortunately Juniors missed the re-spotted penalty.
