Despite a storm of protest from local residents, and calls for his resignation, the Mayor of Ross has still declined to make any comment about his appearance on national television, where he claimed that the residents of Ross-on-Wye would have to pay for a parking ticket he received.
A recently elected Town Councillor, Jo Jennings is very angry, that not only did the ITV programme present ‘a deplorable image of both our Council and our lovely town’ but also that Ross Town Council sent out an email to Councillors, which the Ross Gazette has seen, telling her not to discuss the issue with anyone.
She was so outraged by this that she posted her thoughts on her Facebook page and contacted the Ross Gazette.
She said:“I am past caring whether our Mayor paid his fine out of his own pocket or not. His utter arrogance towards the Enforcement Officers and the people of Ross was stupid, ill-judged and cringe-making.”
Councillor Colin Gray, the Mayor of Ross-on-Wye, appeared on a national television programme, ITV’s Parking Wars, on Tuesday, September 29th. He was filmed sayingthat Ross town residents would have to pay for a parking ticket he received for overstaying in a Hereford car park.
