MADAM, You were asking if anyone remembers the Spanish tea room in Ross and I'm sure many people of my age will. It was situated somewhere opposite what is now Edinburgh Woollen Mill and always called the Pottery Pantry as confirmed on the photograph - I wasn't aware of the name 'Spanish tea room'.

It was run by a man called Peter Plunkett-Norris and around 1960 it was the 'in' place to go for coffee and meet teenage friends from school, especially on a Saturday morning. The balcony was a great feature as you could look down and see who was coming in.

I can't remember when it closed or any other information but I hope this helps Tim Ward.
