Anthea McIntyre MEP, the Conservative MEP for the West Midlands, has reported ongoing issues with the Vodafone mobile phone signal in the Ross-on-Wye area.

On Sunday, June 6th, Miss McIntyre tweeted: “No @VodafoneUK signal from Walford to Ross-on-Wye for a week. Really not acceptable, so many people rely on it. @VodafoneUKhelp.”

Miss McIntyre, who lives just outside of Ross, told the Ross Gazette on Tuesday, June 7th, as we went to press: “Still no Vodafone reception here in Bull’s Hill and as yet we have not heard anything from them.”

Several other residents have contacted the Gazette to add their concerns. Colin Tingle said: "I also have had little, or no, mobile signal for a few weeks now and it’s getting frustrating.

"I work at Hom Green and am unable to contact fellow workers on work’s mobile and also my private mobile."

Martin Johnson added: "It’s truly awful."

Another local resident, Mrs Symington of Archenfield Road, Ross-on-Wye, contacted the Ross Gazette to say that she has not had phone signal for more than a week now. She added that the lack of phone signal with Vodafone seems to go as far as Goodrich.

And One Vodafone customer, William Lyons, who lives at St Owen’s Cross said: "Vodafone reception here is absolutely abysmal!"

A spokesperson for Vodafone told the Ross Gazette that the problems in the HR9 area are due to technical issues with a mast.

She said: "We’re sorry some of our customers in the HR9 postcode have been experiencing signal problems over recent days. A local mast has developed a transmission fault which engineers are currently investigating. We’ll get the site up and running as soon as we can."
