Dear Editor
Further to my previous two letters regarding the confusion of the dates about the public announcements regarding the Council meeting dates, I have been informed by Councillor Caroline Utting that there should be at least four days space between the meeting dates and the comments submitted to the Council.
This means that the date the comments should have been submitted should have been no later than December 14th for the meeting to be held on December 19th, and therefore the date given to the press for publication of December 20th was an error!
I understand Councillor Paul Symonds has suggested that the entrance to the development should be positioned in the South Eastern corner of the site, presumably adjacent to the path where children will have to cross the road to go up the path to the school and then have additional danger from the traffic leaving the development entrance.
Also, I would point out that this entrance would be only approximately 50 yards from the entrance road which serves the 50 odd properties going into Blake Avenue and a little further along the entrance comes down from Princess Way.
However, I am sure the roads and a highway departments will consider and advise the planning officer of any danger and safety issues, because of the close proximity of these entrances, before he makes a decision regarding the planning application.
