The Merry Millers, possibly the largest farmer orientated fundraising group in the area, formed by a Ross-on-Wye farmer and his daughter, are thrilled that the money raised at their recent events has been handed over. Money is still coming in from the special auctions and a dinner and dance, but the group believes that the final figure will be in excess of a whopping £41,000, and that will bring the total since they started fundraising seven years ago to more than £130k.
Ian Pugh and Janey Cotton, of the Merry Millers, told the Ross Gazette that they are absolutely delighted with the support they received from the agricultural trade.
The Wye Valley NHS Trust Umbrella Charity (this covers Macmillan Renton Unit, Coronary Care Unit and Respiratory Dept) which serves the counties of Hereford, Monmouth, Worcestershire and Powys received £16,250
Velindre Cancer Centre, Cardiff received £11,816, due mainly to the efforts of Monmouthshire Livestock Market at Raglan.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
