MissFire has been working at her anvil at Harts, Barn, Longhope, for a year and her brand of artistic blacksmithing has become very popular.
MissFire, who is actually Clare Robertson, has commissions on her books for her wonderful gates themed to suit her clients wishes - decorated with acorns or beech leaves, fire irons, fenders, copper and metal log baskets, doorknockers. She is willing to fulfill orders for a diverse range of products including small items of jewellery and her distinctive acorns. Her high-quality ornamental and functional metalwork is all individually hand-crafted.
After training and studying and honing her skills for seven years, Clare has returned home to Gloucestershire to run her own metalworking company, and on Sunday she celebrated her first year in her workshop and gallery. Recently she has collaborated with stone-carver, Carrie Horwood, their dramatic sculpture of a young oak growing from a stone egg was on show outside the workshop.
