Many people in the local community have offered their condolences and support to the family and friends of 19 year old Andrew Nicholls, after his body was discovered near his home in Lea, near Ross-on-Wye, on Sunday, July 12th.
Andrew went missing on Friday night (July 10th). West Mercia Police were concerned for his welfare, and put out an appeal for people to contact them if they found him, or had information that may have led to his whereabouts.
At 11.20pm on Friday, Police were called to Knightshill in Lea. A man in his 60s had been wounded with a glass bottle. Although the man’s injuries have been described as ‘slight’, he required medical treatment in hospital.
A 19-year-old man, who was known to the victim, fled from the scene. He was treated as a high-risk missing person. This man was Andrew Nicholls.
His body was found by police officers on Sunday. His family were informed, and a formal identification of the body took place.
At this stage, police are not treating his death as suspicious.
