Mo the Donkey has made regular appearances in the Ross Gazette since he became a television star three years ago. He has thoroughly enjoyed himself visiting school fetes, Christmas fairs and even birthday parties, but now his fame is set to spread even wider as his owner Charlotte Sullivan is set to launch her first book based on just one of Mo’s adventures.

Beautifully illustrated by a long time friend, this wonderful children’s book tells a lovely story covering many themes, from love of pets to weddings, and all set in Ross. Many children would be thrilled to include a book in their collection about one of their local heroes, who they have met and perhaps even taken a ride on.

Charlotte and Mo hit the headlines three years ago when she insisted that there were two very special, but unusual guests at her wedding to fiancé, Matt.

When Matt asked Charlotte what she would like for her 40th birthday, she replied that she would like to get married. Not only did this give them a mere three and a half weeks to plan a big Church wedding, Charlotte insisted that Mo the donkey and Bessie the bull terrier accompany her up the aisle as paige boy and bridesmaid.

Mo and Bessie have long been part of their family, so for Charlotte it was unthinkable that they would not be involved in her big day. The story was of course featured in the Ross Gazette and made national newspaper headlines too. A day out in London followed for Charlotte and Mo, when the donkey was invited to star on the Alan Titchmarsh show.

Charlotte’s new book Mo The Donkey, The Wedding Adventure tells the story of how Mo and Bessie stole the show at her wedding, and how Bessie stole a bit more besides.

Charlotte and Mo will be launching their new book on June 25th by the canoe launch opposite the bandstand in Ross, from 12pm until 5pm. You can meet Mo, enjoy a donkey ride and buy a copy of his new book. Charlotte will be reading the book at 2pm, followed by a book signing and then again at 4pm.

A percentage of the sales on the day will be donated to Jane at Carrot Tops rabbit rescue who has helped Charlotte with her other animals in the past.

The book will also be available at various shops in Ross and Charlotte is already working on a sequel updating Mo’s story and featuring new adventures.
