BELL HOMES Developers have plans to build 14 new houses on land in Greytree between the spine road and the dual carriageway.

The proposed development would be on the upper section of the existing field and take up roughly half of the field. There would be a sound barrier erected to reduce the noise from the dual carriageway.

Residents neighbouring the land received a letter from Bell Homes informing them of a pre-planning application consultation evening at the Larruperz Centre on Thursday, December 15th.

At the meeting concerns mainly centered around the increase in cars and the resulting parking issues. Some of the houses in the spine road only have on-street parking and there were concerns that some of the proposed new houses had only one private parking space each. Some of the new houses would have direct access onto the spine road, straight in to their driveway with no provision for turning, meaning that they would have to reverse either in or out each time they return home. At the top and bottom of the proposed development, the plans showed two cul-de-sac vehicle entrances as access to the remaining houses.

Cllr Julie Tyler from Ross Rural Parish Council would be interested to hear any comments from anyone in the area who might be affected by this planning application. You can telephone her on 01989 762885. Ross Rural Parish Council will discuss the application at their next meeting on Wednesday, January 4th at the Larruperz Centre. Parishioners are welcome to attend at 7pm. The first 15 minutes of every meeting are allocated to listening to comments from parishioners.
