The Ross Gazette recently published an article online regarding an incident where a burglar entered the top floor of a Ross-on-Wye home while the resident was downstairs. The following comment was received online:
Dear Editor
Please tell me, why are these incidents always with no address? If the police want assistance, it really would help to know where the incident took place. This article just says "Ross". If we knew where the incident took place, it might be helpful. I will be surprised if anyone can help them based on this information. Please be more specific. Does the address have to be kept anonymous for legal reasons? Do they really want any help to resolve this or not? Give us a clue please?

Editor’s note
The Ross Gazette often asks a spokesperson at West Mercia Police for more details when appeals are made for information about incidents of crime.
We are informed by West Mercia Police that they are unable to provide specific locations/addresses without written consent from the victim. It is only when the victim contacts the paper directly that we are able to give out more information.
