Fire Officer Martin Lown from Ross is about to set off on one of the most demanding challenges he has ever faced. Used to dealing with incidents from fires to floods, this week Martin will set off to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the world's highest freestanding mountain, and he will be wearing full firefighter equipment and breathing apparatus. All this to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity. So far Martin has raised £3,400 but is still fundraising to reach his personal target of £5,000. He was collecting donations at Morrisons in Ross on Saturday, January 22nd and collected a fantastic £806.58. He is very grateful to the residents of Ross, and Morrisons for supporting him in his climb.
