The Old Chapel is 'poorly constructed' would be 'relatively expensive to maintain' and 'unattractive in a commercial way'.

This was the conclusion of a report referred to by Councillor Phil Cutter when the Town Council debated the Asset Transfers at the meeting of Ross Town Council on Monday, November 10th.

Councillor Cutter said that, according to a structural engineers report, it would cost almost £70,000 to bring the building up to a standard, where it could be used as the Town Council offices.

He said that the upstairs is difficult to access and would need a lift. It had cost £15,000 to install the lift at the Corn Exchange.

He said:?"We don't want to load a new council in May with the burden of about £80,000."
