MP Jesse Norman appeared on the same television news programme as London Marathon winner Paula Radcliffe on January 26th.
However although Ms Radcliffe was hoping for an apology after the MP appeared to link her with the doping scandel in British athletics, following the select committee meeting in September discussing this issue, he stopped short of saying sorry. He said that as he did not name her ’no apology was required’ he did say that he was ’sad’ that his comments had been taken ’that way’ .
Ms Radcliffe added that the MP may not have meant to name her but the link was made and by reporters of a newspaper Mr Norman has written for, which claimed had been ’harassing me’. She added: "I would appreciate an apology."
