Jesse Norman, MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire, visited Scope in Ross-on-Wye on Friday, July 12th.

Erica Pollard, Manager of the shop told the Ross Gazette: “It was a really brilliant day. Mr Norman rolled up his sleeves and got very involved, processing stock and serving customers while he was here during the 45 minute visit.”

Jesse learnt from some of the volunteers at Scope who talked about how the branch and the charity itself work. The MP brought along a bag of clothes, DVDs and books to donate too.

Erica said: “We at Scope in Ross would like to thank not only Mr Norman for generously giving us his time, but all who are donating and purchasing fabulous items and, buying our raffle tickets.  Your invaluable support helps Scope support disabled people and their families.

“To ensure we can run the shop efficiently, we need volunteers. If you would like to volunteer in our friendly shop and have from as little as two hours a week to spare, why not call in for a chat? Every day will be different. All you need is a comfortable pair of shoes as training will be given.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
