The first weekend in September, 1st and 2nd, will again see the annual Large Model Air Show take place at Rye Meadows, Much Marcle HR8 2LX. Hosted by the Herefordshire Model Aero Club the Show is staged by the national Large Model Association (LMA).

All the models are flown by members of the LMA. The Show is one of only five or six such events held across Great Britain and is the only one of its kind in the West of England. It attracts modellers, traders and enthusiasts from across the country. Because of the attractive location, this Show is also very popular with the general public.

As always, a share of profits from the event will go to local good causes. Indeed, over recent years donations of well over £30,000 have been made to various charities, including the Air Ambulance, local hospices, St John Ambulance and a range of good causes in and around Much Marcle.

Models to be flown at the show cover a very wide range of types, from the earliest days of flight right up to modern jets. The largest will be around half full size and they present a superb spectacle against the rolling hills which surround the site.

This Show is always popular with people of all ages. Admission prices on the day are unchanged from last year at £10 for adults, with free admission for children under 16 accompanied by an adult. A range of refreshment services is available on site.
