Kieran and Tilly Williams have a brother, Harry, who would have been 11 years old if he had not died when he was just two.

During his short life Harry, who had an undiagnosed condition, was helped by Megan Baker House, and his bother and sister remember spending time there. The therapists helped Harry to learn to do things, like roll over and hold his head up, and Kieran and Tilly played whilst Harry had his sessions.

When the Ross-on-Wye family saw a sign advertising the Mudrunner at Eastnor Castle in aid of Megan Baker House, Kieran immediately decided to take part.

His mum, Sarah told the Ross Gazette that Kieran is very keen on fitness and then Tilly said she wanted to do it too.

Before long the youngsters had told their friends at school about it and 14 children took part in the actual event.

They were joined by their dad Darryl, some friends and the father of one of the other children.

While they were looking forward to the event a spokesperson from Megan Baker House visited Goodrich School, where Tilly is a pupil. Sarah said:?“For Kieran and Tilly Megan Baker House is very personal to them but this helped the other children to understand.

“They got to see who uses it and why it is so important.”

Kieran set a fundraising total on his just giving page of £500 but when that was quickly reached he increased it to £1,000. In the end more than £2000 was raised but other donations have brought the total up to £3,117.28.

Everyone who took part agreed that they had a brilliant time. Sarah who was waiting at the finish line said: “I felt really jealous of the fun they were all having and how everyone was helping each other.”

Sarah and Darryl’s son, Harry, was born on September 28th, 2004 and, although he had a very short life, his memory lives on and continues to inspire his family.
