Residents and staff at Ross Court Care Home recently hosted a day of music, dancing and crafts for families, friends and neighbours in the local community for National Care Home Open Day.
The day started with a Creative Writing Club, run by a local author and poet, whilst Magic Moments Club Co-ordinator, Clare Lockley, made collages with residents. After lunch residents enjoyed a Belly Dancing Class from a local teacher and a visit from friend of the home, Vic Lockley who brought in his vintage 1953 MG TD Sports Car.Home Manager, Janet Auty said: “We wanted to bring together the whole of the local community in line with National Care Home Open Day. We covered so many aspects of the arts to showcase all the activities we offer to our residents!”
National Care Home Open Day encourages homes to open their doors to celebrate a different theme each year, with a few key values at its heart: friendship, making connections and celebrating older and vulnerable people.
