A National Exhibition recently came to Ross-on-Wye to showcase the personal stories of people who are displaced in their own country. It was the only opportunity in Herefordshire to view the exhibition, which is travelling the country.
The photographic presentation was available to view between Thursday, October 25th and Saturday, October 27th. It was set up in Ross Baptist Church and organised by the Ross-on-Wye and District Christian Aid Group. Sue Harding and Lucy Price, who work with Christian Aid, welcomed visitors to the exhibition along with other Christian Aid representatives.
There are more than 40 million people who are displaced within their own country, due to war and persecution, natural disaster and famine, climate change, and personal circumstances.
Using photographs, stories, and identity cards, the exhibition focused on displacement within Nigeria, Kenya, and Iraq by highlighting the personal struggles that individuals and families there face in the midst of displacement.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
