MANY people saw and heard a low flying helicopter over the Ross area on Wednesday evening, August 27th, at about 9.30pm. Janet Baily commented on the Ross Gazette Facebook page, "It was an extremely noisy helicopter and it was raining!" Enquiries by the Ross Gazette with West Mercia Police, Gloucester Police and Gwent Police did not reveal the identity of the mysterious chopper. However, a spokeman for Policing & Security – NATO Summit Wales 2014 told the Ross Gazette:?"There will be lots of operational activity, which will include aircraft activity in the Gwent and surrounding areas, in the run up to the Nato summit. While we are not able to confirm all activity, it is necessary to ensure a safe and successful summit." Full report in this week's Gazette.
