Madam, I am writing in response to Mr Hughes' letter of last week regarding his concerns around the neighbourhood plan for the Ross area. I share some of his concerns which is why, in my County Councillor's report for the last six monthly Town Council meetings, I have mentioned neighbourhood planning for Ross and asked that we organise a joint meeting between Ross Town Council and Ross Rural Parish Councillors.

Thankfully it was agreed to hold the meeting and I know that the plan is of crucial importance to the town. I agree with Mr Hughes it is very important and Ross residents must have their say in the consultation which has been in the press and myself and Cllr Mayo have advertised it heavily on social media.

Mr Hughes said: "Wake up County and Parish Councillors", I like to think that I never nodded off. Mr Hughes is also one of those Parish Councillors and I look forward to working with him and others.

Councillor Andrew Atkinson,

Ross-on-Wye East Ward.
