MADAM, I WAS surprised to get a call on Wednesday, March 25th to say my horses had got out from their paddock at Greytree; could I get there immediately as they were on the road. It was only due to the speedy actions of residents at the ends of Sixth Avenue and a few horsey friends they rang, that the horses did not escape out onto busier roads.
It transpired that the same paddock was set alight and the fire brigade attended a few days before, however I was not aware of this. Upon further investigation I could see that the fencing and hedge had been weakened in one place and combined with some unwanted activity in the afternoon, according to neighbours, the horses escaped. Again many thanks to all that helped and I hope the lovely manicured gardens were not damaged and no real harm was done, quick actions saved the day. Sharon Hodges, Ross
