Janet and Nick Nelson, veterans of the Camino de Ross-on-Wye, are setting off on another pilgrimage soon, this time to St David’s, at the tip of Wales.

The Choir of St Mary’s Parish Church in Ross will be singing at St David’s Cathedral in August, and Janet and Nick are aiming to complete their walk in time to join them.

This will be a sponsored walk, to build up the St. Mary’s Choral Scholarship Fund. Children who sing regularly in the St Mary’s Choir can apply for a scholarship to help pay for music lessons.

With a decreased provision for music lessons in schools, parents can find it hard to pay for instruments and lessons, and it is hoped that the scholarships will encourage more children to learn music.

Janet and Nick would welcome both personal and business sponsors. For business sponsors, your logo can appear on the shirts that they will wear during the walk.

All donations will go directly to the scholarship fund, and no expenses are deducted.
