Alison Braddy has ongoing health issues which often leave her desparate to use a toilet. This can make it difficut to get out but she was thrilled when she was able to help a charity which was close to her heart and be close to a public convenince.
Alison volunteers at the Animal Rescue shop in Brook End Street, Ross-on-Wye, which is close to the Red Meadow toilets. She said it had been very convenient until the coin operated door system was put in place. Since then she has found it difficult as she said that sometimes it accepts a 20p coin but sometimes it doesn’t.
She told the Ross Gazette that on several occasions she had seen other people also having problems gaining access as their coins were not accepted by the machine.
Ms Braddy said: “I hope if people want to use the public toilets they carry a variety of 20p pieces with them.
A spokesperson for Ross Town Council told the Ross Gazette that the machines were installed on January 28th and no-one else had complained. They said that this happens with all coin operated machines, and they do accept other coins such as 10p and 5p pieces.
