Ross Rural Councillor, Adrian Soble, a councillor with many year's experience, was selected by members of Ross Town Council to fill the vacency left following the death of Town Councillor John Edwards. The new Councillor will serve with Ross Town Council until the next election in 2015.

An advertisment in the Ross Gazette resulted in five applicants putting themselves forward to be considered.

Last Thursday, October 9th, the Mayor, Councillor Colin Gray, asked each applicant to introduce themselves and give the reasons why they wanted to be considered.

The other Councillors asked questions which had to be the same to each candidate.

All the town councillors were present except Councillor Phil Cutter who is on holiday.

The first question was posed by Councillor David Ravenscroft who asked what the applicants know about the Asset Transfers and how they would use the Assets to benefit the town.

Councillor Jane Roberts explained the committement needed for meetings and asked if each candidate was prepared for this. Full report in this week's Gazette.
