Herefordshire Council say that the newly painted double-yellow lines opposite the new Aldi store in Brookend Street are illegal.
Shopkeepers in the street were angry after several loading bays were removed and double-yellow lines extended without any warning on October 23rd.The supermarket claimed that a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) was approved shortly after planning permission for the store was granted, but the Council have denied this.
The Council said in a statement to the Ross Gazette: "There has been no request for a new or amended TRO and consequently the lines as marked are illegal and we may request that they are removed."
