The Friends of Ross Hospital were delighted to purchase new equipment for the physiotherapy department at Ross Community Hospital. The new table tennis set arrived recently and has been placed in the Hospital garden, next to the physiotherapy department.
Senior Physiotherapist, Alex Hall, approached the Friends of Ross Hospital for funding because he wanted to find a new and interesting way to help patients recover. While playing table tennis will be good for some patients undergoing physiotherapy, all of the patients in the Hospital, and the staff who work there, are welcome to use it too.
Alex told the Ross Gazette that the table was carefully chosen to ensure it was sturdy enough to support those with mobility issues who may need to lean on it, or use it to steady their balance. The height of the table is also accessible to patients who use a wheelchair.
Jill Davies, Chair of the Friends of Ross Hospital said: “We were delighted to provide the funding to buy this. It’s such a brilliant thing to have at the Hospital.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
